🏦 Staff Accountant

Job Summary This position is responsible for supporting the daily operations and maintenance of the general ledger system, banking, cash applications, intercompany invoicing, foreign exchange, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Job Duties and Responsibilities Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Provide support to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close. Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the General Ledger System including, but not limited to: entering journal entries, posting cash, and account reconciliations. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payables and collection of receivables. Assist with process to ensure weekly timesheets are entered and approved. Collaborate with others in Finance to support overall department goals and objectives. Respond to inquiries from Finance Leadership regarding financial results, special reporting requests and ad-hoc analyses. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow and internal controls. Key Competencies Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and accrual accounting under GAAP. Solid communication & interpersonal skills with ability to speak with all levels of the organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ERP level accounting systems. High energy and enthusiasm with a commitment to exceeding expectations. Self-starter and team player with a desire to be an active, long-term participant in the growth of the company. Ability to multitask and prioritize with great attention to detail. Education/qualifications required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related business field. - 2+ years prior experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, payroll and benefits, international tax, statutory filing requirements, and all areas of the accounting cycle. - Experience with Infor or Lawson ERP software preferred. - Experience in the CRO industry preferred.
