👨🏻‍💻 Lead Backend Engineer

What is the Role We're seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. In this role, you will take a leadership position, shaping the architecture, design, and delivery of our platform capabilities. You'll spearhead innovation, provide strategic engineering direction, and play a critical role in building the best end-to-end data platform that's incredibly easy to use. Role Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of platform capabilities. Drive and inspire innovation, setting the technical direction for the engineering team. Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features. Ensure the security, scalability, and quality of all deliverables. Tackle key challenges in the modern data stack with a forward-thinking approach. Cultivate an organization rooted in excellence, fostering a culture of high performance. Ensure timely delivery of features and platform improvements. Mentor, guide, and develop team members, nurturing the next generation of engineering leaders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 8-12 years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with deep experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience in architecting scalable data solutions. Extensive experience with AWS services, including managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure. Solid familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present complex solutions effectively. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams in a remote environment. Experience in the data engineering domain is a strong plus. Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of Java and Spring Boot. Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases. Expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture. Mastery of REST API design and implementation. Experienced with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
